need some help with a scope selection for my rifle

Ok, the Rifle is a 270win Tikka T-3 stainless.
I'm looking at replacing the scope on this rifle and want to keep the cost around $700.00 or so. I went by a local sporting good store and looked at two modles.
    1. Khales. (3.5 X 10 X 50) This scope is on sale for just over $700.00. Owner says that it is the last one in stock and they will not carry this brand anymore. He is telling me that this particular model is the last one made by Swarovski and the new models will have a different maker.

    2. Zeiss conquest. (3 X 9 X 50) This scope is a little less expensive than the Khales

He had good things to say about both scopes, but said the Khales was a much better lens since it was made by Swarovski. I looked through both scopes and really could not tell the difference but if anything, I thought the Zeiss was the clearer of the two. I definatly liked the reticle of the Zeiss better. Of course it was in the middle of the day.

I only deer hunt and rarely shoot over 150 yards with most shots under 100yards. Clearity is very important as we always hunt in the woods and very rarely hunt fields. I have decided on a 1" tube and want the 50 mm objective.
Any suggestions would be appreciated. I know there are some guys on here that hunt religously and know about this stuff.

I have Tikka T-3 in the .300 wsm and I have a leupold VX-3 it's a 3.5x10x50 matte finish and I paid $580.00 for it. I do some long range shooting when I go out west or up into canada. It is a nice scope and Leupold has a great warranty.

On my other gun which is a Browning A-bolt 30.06 I have a Nikon Buckmaster scope 3x9x40 and I tell you what the clarity is awesome. Check out the Nikon Monarch 2.5x10x50 it goes for about $500.00. Nikon products are known for clarity. They make camera's, binoculars, scopes. rangefinders.

You could check out the Leupold VX-3L in a 3x10x50, This model has a contoured front on it so you can sit the scope lower to the barrel. That goes for $700.00.

I have heard good things about the Khales, but I believe as you have mentioned, Swarovski is out of the scope business. I would have great concern to put that much money in a scope and then IF you have any trouble where do you go.

I have a Nikon Monarch Gold 2.5x10x50 on my 300 Ultr-Mag. I really like it.

2.5x10x56 Trjicon it's almost cheating using this scope in lowlight conditions! be hard presses to find a scope more clear and has a fiber optic post or crosshair dot so seeing it in lowlight is not an issue
