I hear the pump but not getting any water, pulled out the nozzle and nothing. Didn't have the plug (livewell) in and didn't think about that being a possible issue until now.

what kind of boat ?
sounds to me like you have the nozzle in the pump out position. Push it in and try again.......

every now and then they will get air locked, and you will have to put the boat in reverse to get it to pumping

Make sure dirt dobbers have not stopped up the inlet side of pump.At transon. Try flushing out with water hose>>>

mine does the same thing. I have to drop it in reverse after running in order to get rid of the air lock.

Mine did that saturday.. Backed up and it worked
Check the clocking of the pump. The discharge should be between 10 to 2. It solved the problem I was having with my old boat. I am searching the archives for pics.
