Need info on a Evinrude 200 HO.

I am looking at a boat with a 2003 Evinrude 200HO. The engine has 191 hours on it. I know I have to have the engine checked out,but, are there any issues with this engine? Do any of you guys run this model? Any feedback on pros and cons would be great. Thanks

So far so good on replies. What size/type prop should be run with this motor? Is 191 hours good or bad for a 2003?

Prop depends on what the motor is pushing. As far as hours go divide # of hours by number of years and that will give you an average use per year.

Yeah sorry, it is on a Ranger 519. No jack plate. I do not think I could fit it in the garage with one.

24" Raker is the general ticket on that hull.

I have the same boat with 200 FICHT and the 24 Raker. 5" jack plate and there was no better prop I could find. 65-72 mph top end and I feel a little slugish out of the hole. Your may be better. Shall I say was I dropped my engine this summer. Still I know of several folks here with 03 and later models that roll on well.
