Where to put those loose lures and hooks besides the deck

Okay, here it is, Doc Irv's concept of a good idea, which, as you will read, is not much but it works for me. I always seem to have a lot of hooks and jigs, and spinnerbaits and crank baits lying on the deck during a fishing outing. I don't mind it too much except when I am bare footed, but my dog really hates it and seems to always find a few hooks for her paws. I also thought of that useless item in the boat, the "hardly blocks much wind at all" windshield. So I went out and invested about $1.79 on a 1 and 1/2 inch pipe insulation. The kind with the split down the middle lengthwise with sticky stuff called glue or adhesive if your well educated on either side of the split. So, I cut a piece about the width of my windshield and put it on the top of the windshield and that is where is put all those nasty paw hooking things. It keeps my deck clean, my dog happy, and me organized. Here is a picture of it, maybe, if it works.

Don't ride shotgun with Doc, you'll end up with a face full of lures after he takes you on a high-speed run down the lake. Seriously, will they stay put when running the big motor? If so that looks like a good idea.

Yup, I ran the big motor yesterday and at 55+ mph they all stayed put.

I use to keep them in a old tray that was screwed down tothe deck of my old cougar boat until I tryed to that boat by standing it on its tail end. But since I had only 1 consul when it layed back down the guy fishing with me ( Don M.) got a face full of hooks and weights. to say the least that was the last trip that the tray was on the front deck! but I did laugh as don was pulling the old jigs out of his hair

I've driven it on the highway while trailering it at up to 75 mph and never lost on of the lures or had them fall out.

Doc, that stuff is great for keeping the cover from tearing through at the windshields as well. Kill two birds with one stone!
