    A nice suprise

I hit a log Sunday while I was out fishing. Sheared the tilt cylinder off, bent the prop shaft. Take the boat to the shop and call the insurance co. Come to find out I have what is called a "diminishing deductible". It goes down 25% every year you don't have a claim. Mine was down to 0 since I hadn't had a claim in over 4 years. Of course now it will go back to 500, but will start reducing again. I didn't even know it was in my policy.

Just something to think about / check in to.

Sounds like it worked out good for you. Did you mean to post this on the Insurance 101 site? We do loan and extended service contracts here. Let us know if we can help with anything.

Actually, that's where I was "aiming". I thought about deleting it, but good info is good info, no matter where you find it
