Hole Shot

2003 521 Ranger, 2003 250 Rude, 4 batteries both tanks 1/2 full.

I can run a 28 Raker during the winter and a 26 during the summer. Also have a 25 Renegade. My hole shot really sucks bad with all 3. It is a little better with the Renegade. I know that getting the prop worked will help some. Looking for other ways to maybe help.

I have read where on the Mercs and Yammys that a lightened fly wheel will help the hole shot a good bit. Something about letting the motor turn up a little quicker. Was wondering if anyone had tried this with a Rude and if so did it help?

Not looking for more speed just a better hole shot. It will probably take a couple of items to get much better. Just looking for them.

You may want to ask the guys on scream and fly Tom but I haven't heard of a lightend flywheel for a DFI motor. You may want to consider a Tempest plus with the PVS plug system.

Seems that I had read where someone had one lightened . I will ask on S&F.

Bruce has a Tempest I am going to try. Also am considering having one of the Rakers worked on but not sure wich one to do. Would drilling the vent holes bigger in one of the Rakers maybe help?
