Where to hook up water pressure guage?

Just installed a Hyd. Jack Plate and was convinced I should have a water pressure gauge to keep tabs on cooling.

Brown Santa (UPS) should be visiting me on wednesday and I would like to make sure I am ready when he gets here, where is the correct place to tap into the cooling system on a 1999 Johnson 200?

Is there any reason I cannot divert the telltale stream from the rear of the motor to the gauge?

It will attach on the adapter plate. Remove the allen head plug and the fitting will go in there. You can't tap into the tell tale.

On your motor pull the cowl off, down at the bottom of the motor block by the lower pan on the starboard side of the motor towards the back you will see the allen head plug. That is where the brass fitting goes. When you put the brass fitting on make sure you use some teflon tape on the threads before you tighten it down.

Found it, hooked it up, and everything works great! Now I get to start playing around with trim settings with a boat-load of confidence.
