well i got the gambler last year. Shes not in bad shape but i would like to re do the gel and fix her up little bit, like currently taking out the bench and putting to buckets. The major problem i'm having is i have no clue how to spray the gel. if i could get a clear understanding on how to spray or apply, then i would proceed this restoration. Also why is it a big NO to use car paint on a boat, Even if its a very good quality paint?
Most car paints are not made to hold up in a marine enviorment. They make marine paints you can use, 2 part epoxy paints, but the prep work to paint over gelcoat is just as much if not more than the prep work to spray new gelcoat.
Gelcoat will hold up much better than the paint on a bass boat.

I am currently re gel coating the top cap of a Blazer. I was nervous untill i read articles and tried for myself. Not that hard.
hey sjbassin was just wondering what kinda shape the seats were in? im looking for some to put in my predator and wanted to go back with bench instead of the two buckets mine are torn and ripped so they arent any good.
