Simple Green - BE CAREFUL !!!!!!!!!!!!!! Lesson Learned and help asked for...

I have a white boat hull....

One night i was getting boat ready for tournament and it was getting dark. I didn't have time to wash the boat so thought i'd just take some Simple Green, dilute it and put it onto boat hull areas with sponge where i had the typical scum line on boat hull and transom. Did it quick, took off the grime, i didn't have time to spray hose the boat.. so i just got some buckets and splashed them around the boat where i had rubbed with sponge.

Well... here is what i got now... wherever any of the Simple Green residue was still on the hull... the hull is now discolored pretty bad. the only thing that will work is to use a boat heavy oxidation restoration cleaner to get it all back to the original white.

Anyone have a product they recommend for maximum color restoration with minimal effort rubbing ? I'm using the 3M boat restoration product and also tried mcquires (?) and both seem to requre some VERY serious labor/effort to get the color back.

    Help!

have you tried the 3-m pro cutting compound and a high speed buffer,,There isnt much that wont come to life that ive used that on,Not sure of the product number but it def works with the buffer ,you may need to use the buffer for the product your using now too it might not have enough heat /friction by hand to work the way its intended
