i have a 99 tr21 triton and i am looking to repaint the boat.... i bought it used and i love the boat but i hate the color .... green .... the color i hate more than anything but i couldnt beat the price i gave for the boat.... i have several questions.... what kind of paint do i use... ive talked to several people about gel coat and they have told me that it is not a good idea to repaint the entire boat with gel coat for the cost factor and cause gel coat is a resin and that it cure with the resin of the fiber glass so the boat and paint are one.... they have suggested poly urethane paint .... is this paint durable enuf for a bass boat?.... if not does anyone have othere suggestions for paint.... and when i do paint it (actually im not painting it i am having a friend who paints car paint it for me but he has never painted a boat so he isnt sure what kind of paint... he too suggested poly urethane with about 8 coats of clear to give it durability)
