I am going to send my Power Disturbution Panel to DFI to get the solder joints redone. The paper work I need to fill out ask for the part number. I went to the Evinrude web site but could not get the parts section on the site to work.
When I remove my PDP is there any precautions I need to take. I assume I need to unhook my battery? It looks like it would be fairly simple to remove/install but here lately I have a black cloud over my headMy boat sat at dealer for 90 days and he never figured out my weird problem...motor goes crazy when you hit 3900 RPM It will ocasionally miss/hickup trying to get to 3900 but once you get near 3900 the motor will go to 0 rpm and then it will bounce from 0-3900 so hard it will snap you back in the seat. If for some reason you can get it to run above 3900 it will do the same thing as soon as you hit 5000 It is like you turned the motor off and right back on within a second.
Before going to a dealer I checked all ground wires that I could find plus inspected all wires that I could see. Plus I checked male/female connections. Battery has new cables with lock nuts installed. I may have missed something but I am not a boat mechanic.
Per my mechanic when he talked to somebody from Evinrude they said it was probabbly my EMM. It was sent to DFI and they could not duplicate the problem on a bench test. My mechanic said my ignition switch was good and everything was getting fire but he could not find the problem. I am going to have DFI refurbuish my PDP and if that does not fix my problem I will take it somewhere to get it fixed...willing to travel 4-5 hrs for a good mechanic
