    Repainting motor cover

    Anyone repainted thier motor cover and what did you use.
    Do you need flexible bumper type paint or reg auto paint

    Painted mine with basecoat/clearcoat - turned out great!

    seems all the ones I have seen redone were done in auto paint....or sprayed on marine paints like Interlux or Petit

    If I can figure out how to post I will try to post some pics. BTW, it doesn't hurt when your tourney partner owns a body shop! LOL! Also, for anyone that is interested in decals, I got my Merc. decals from Replicals.com and am extremely pleased with them. (complete 225 EFI set was $99.95)

    Your cowlings will just need regular paint, which is what bumpers get also, what you are thinking of is called flex additive and it is just that, added to the mixture If your cowling is moving enough to crack the paint , your in for a bad day with worse problems
