    AWL GRIP

I had an oppurtunity to spend a weekend with a bunch of reps from ASHLAND a couple weekends ago. And discussing with them my situation they decided I'd be best served refinishing my boat with a product called awlgrip.
It is a form of paint, and is available from West Marine. Apparently it is much more weather resistant and durable than normal gel coat.

My question is who if anyone has used this stuff and how did it work for you. I'm a little confused on what all I need. The guys from ashland deal with resins and gels and so didn't give any real specifics....

I'm trying to refinish the entire boat, AND have it done in a timely manner. Fishing season opens soon up here.

    Re: AWL GRIP (90MPHHydraSports)

I have used it to paint bilges on Large boats before it is good stuff. I just painted my boat with Perfection by Interlux (yachtpaint.com) used their system with the brushing reducer and rolled and tipped and it turned out great. My last boat was painted with Imoron and it was tuff as well I just wanted to do this as cheap as possible, and you need a spray booth and air supplied resperator for Imoron.
All this was for above the water line, if you are painting below the water line and are going to leave the boat in the water you need different paint for that.

You will be good with any of the paints listed above if you do not keep them in the water for more than 7 consecutive days. if you keep it in the water for longer periods of time you will need a different type of paint & primer .if you trailer your boat or keep it in the water over a night or 2 you will be fine
    Awlgrip is an excellent product
