    wet sanding how often

How often do you have to wet sand a boat I've got a little oxidation on my top plate everywhere else is fine. Nice shine and smooth but from certain angles i can see the oxidization and I don't like it if I wet sand will it come back and if so how long???

If it's only a little area, try hitting it with a finishing material like Finesse It 2 and a high speed buffer. Wet sanding is only for very heavy oxidation as you really want to try and avoid removing to much gel coat if possible.

Try oxidation compond remover with a high speed polisher. 3M makes a good compond. You can get it at WalMart. That's what I did on my Ranger. Wet sanding light oxidation might be over kill. Anyway, apply the compound and start polishing at a low speed and increase the speed as you go. Apply more pressure as you increase speed. The compond has to heat up to work. Keep the polisher moving and once you've gone over it for a while start backing off the pressure and buff. Wipe clean and it sould be gone. Use a terri-cloth bonnet on the polisher. You can get a verible speed plolisher at Harbor Freight at a good price......

    Good Luck.
