All I will say is the cheaper the repair now the shorter time you will still be able to continue to use it. It really depends on how bad it is and if it appears to be weak it is probably worse than you think. Read some of the posts pinned at the top of the resto page. Also read Boostedones thread and Javelins also.

if it is fairly solid you may be able to get away with Clear Penetrating Epoxy from a company called Dr. Rot. It is not cheap at $250 but I used it with very good results. You inject it into the transom at various spots and the epoxy migrates throughout the wood before setting up to a plastic like material. It will not restore a transom that is completely shot however.
then put alunium channel across the motor bolts out to the side of the boat.
Thanks a lot for the info. It is not completely shot but has a little more flex when i take off than i like. It is a pretty good ole boat and I dont want to lose it in a bad way.![]()

If you can see it flex when you take off its gone. Replace it before you loose a motor or worst, your boat.
I agree with SwatDawg. If it is that bad that it is flexing under load it is dangerous. Try trimming it all the way up on the trailor and have a bud put weight on the cav plate, you will see flex if the wood is beyond repair.
