Carpet install day 1

Well my carpet showed up this week.
I got a pretty good start on it. See below for the pics of the progress. Looks pretty good so far.

I guess first I'll show what i did for the corners on the locker lids. This came from a picture off this site. It worked out VERY well. Also i lucked out. My 2' level was the perfect width for triming the carpet before I started gluing the edges.

Here's the pics of the trimming process.

Used a square and a 45 degree angle to mark the corner cuts. You can decide which side of the door will show the most and determine which way the fold will go.

    Make the cuts.

Then fold the corners in. I used the sharpy to push the carpet into the corners. Oh, and don't forget to mark the hinge holes before you fold the carpet to the inside.

Ok, now here are some pics of the boat so far.

This is how i trimed my carpet. Left about an inch or so around the edge. Just make sure you don't move the carpet once you start cutting.I had my son hold it in place.

WHere did you get the carpet? I'm 30 miles from the carpet capitol of the world, but no one down there (Dalton, Ga) knows what weight the carpet they have is. Just trying to save $$$ but it's time to get to it. I'll finish the prep work tommorrow, just need to get the rug ordered

I used 20oz. I got it from Cabelas on sale. It was their Ultimate carpet in light gray. I got 27' Had plent left over from my 20' boat. I'll use the rest for the bunks, bumpers and fender wells.

Looks great. What steps did you take to remove the old glue?
