I bought a new left over 08 Ranger Z20 with 225 ETEC HO and have had it out about six times. Somewhere around 6 to 8 hours run time and it let me down on the water today. It was running fine all morning and then just went from about 40 mph to practically nothing and sounded funny. It will start sometimes, but hold hot foot all the way down and will not build rpm. Does anyone have any suggestions??

sounds like its in slow mode...or safe mode, overheat,water in gas,and several other things will cause it, its a safety feature,but something has caused it, if that is what it is

What is safe mode? Do you know how to tell if it is in safe mode? Can low oil cause the engine to go into safe mode? I didn't notice any alarm lights or horn.

Looks like my issue is an injector problem. Nothing major........John with David Fritts Outdoors is already on top of it. Glad I purchased my boat from them.
