Dad's boat is shot but this engine has low hours and has not been
abused. Long term will parts such as coils, water pump be hard to
find? If I decide to store the engine what do you recomend? Drain
the carbs, pull the plugs and lub with light oil in chamber?
Most of the parts should still be available at dealer or on the Evinrude site. I dont see the general maintenance parts going anywhere. We got that same motor on old ally PolarKraft. Still running strong. My grandpa scored that rig new right before they dropped out of the boat business.
omc has a some stuff called foging oil spray that in your cylinders when you want to store it
I guess it depends on your interpretation of "store" like, how long, 1 month, 1 year, 5 years? you need to know approx how long before you start correct storing procedure, most times almost nothing needs to be done, but we need to know how long you intend to store the motor first.
