I was up and looked at it but haven't fished. The water is still about 8' below summer pool and rising. I know "Deepcreek" has been out some, IM him and he might be able to help you out.
fished tourny on sunday four limits some huge smallies, and a couple big large mouth. 11.56 punds won. large mouth caught shallow smallies caught deep
Fish the Yough yesterday for the 1st time. Water was 60 and bright sun with a slight breeze. Only got 5 SM- 9am to 7pm. Fished all over the lake and even up in the river, looking around and learning the lake. It seems like a nice lake but a tough day for me. Best was 15" and 2-14"
4 of the five would have measured- 5th was a dink.
Caught on spinnerbait, mistertwister and a tube.
sorry you had a bad day in my opinion this lake is over looked as a small mouth lake. there are lots of huge smallies in this lake. the hard thing is that they suspend but if you find them look out.
I hit the Yough pretty hard in the spring. Through April and May, the smallmouth fishing is on fire!!! 30-40 fish a day can be a normal day.
After Memorial Day, most of my fishing there is early morning till noon.
Leave the heavy gear at home on this lake. Your best bet is 3-4" tubes, brown, reddish/brown in color. 3-4" senkos in white or silver. Flukes right below the surface. Or good old live bait.
They can be very easy to pattern at this time of the year. I usually start off by fishing the steep ledges dropping into deep water.
Then I fish docks near shallow water as spring gets on and the water hits 60.
Docks over deeper water holds them in the summer months.
If all else fails, get some medium fathead minnows and fish them on a jig head. Nothing else comes close to live bait on that lake.
If It wasn't for all the traffic on the lake,it would be one of my favorite places to fish.

i agree this is a great place to fish if you know how to catch them over looked lake for sure.
Fished the Yough this past Sat. 6/10
Fishing was pretty tough for me, the cold front that was going thru had the fish turned off. I managed 8, best 1 went 2-3lbs. I had a hard time getting any type of pattern going, just found one here and there and the bite was light, light, light
had to fish slow, slow , slower
All smallmouth and I fished from the dam all the way to the Md end where it goes to the river.
Going back to the Yough this coming weekend and give it a try again.![]()

I have a TX there this coming Sat. hope we stumble onto something "A blind mouse will find a piece of cheese every once in a while"![]()
I recently fished it and experienced the same thing as you. Only got a few, here and there. Its definately some tough fishing there and the pleasure boats don't help![]()
I agree, the pleasure boats sure get the banks all muddied up quick. I was tryin a deep pattern this last time so that didn't bother me but I still didn't find any fish. Maybe there's something to that suspending, I hate suspending fish
