Tough fishing in the A.M. like usual on Hugo. Started with white/chart Secret Weapon spinner baits on submerged road beds and creeks. By 10 A.M. it finaly started gettin good flippin SW spinner baits and black/blue Charmer Baits Timber Pups in the buck brush 18"-24" deep. Yes I said 18-24 INCHES. Hugo lake goes against all normal tactics. When it gets hot in the mid day get SHALLOW. We were in a double header tournament Kiamichi Team Bass combined with Coach Mike Armes Memorial. We finished 2nd out of 130 boats. We missed 1st by .03oz what a heart breaker. Weighed in 16.74 with a 6.14lb. kicker fish. Not a bad day we each won $1262.25. Black/Blue soft plastics and white or white/chart spinner baits good all year on hugo. Thats all we use.
