Went by myself to test a prop. Loaded in at the City Park ramp at a little after 6:00 PM. After testing the prop, fished the South cove with a long billed shad colored crankbait and a skirted twin tailed grub. In and hour and a half I caught three nice 15 inch+ fish and two dinks. They all came on the crankbait in about 3-4 feet of water in grass beds.
Most fishermen seem to be still fishing the discharge side of the lake. A friend who was on vacation two weeks ago said they were catching the hybrids and sandbass right in the discharge channel early in the morning. He said they had one school of Sandbass stay up for more than 20 minutes.
The water is about 78 degrees. It is reasonably clear at the dam and a little murky from the runoff in the coves.
