    Konawa - 10/15/05

Don't want to suggest the OWD report of fish being caught in 8' of water on crankbaits off the points is inaccurate, but I caught nothing trying a wide variety of shallow and deep running crankbaits. I caught a few short fish at the edge of the weeds on a spinnerbait and some on powerbait worms ( tequila sunrise). A friend that loaded in at the same time with his wife caught 21 sandbass (small fish) in south cove using a Kastmaster slab.

Did make a useful discovery. Had a little engine trouble and had to pull the boat off the ramp and work on it. When I loaded back in I left my tool box on the fender of the trailer. The discovery is that even as heavy as the tool box is it will still float. Waded out into waist deep water to retrieve it. Lucky for me it was very early so no one saw me take "the wet walk of shame".

    Re: Konawa - 10/15/05 (Wheels)

I am shooting for Saturday evening. Got chores for Saturday AM both at home and the office.

I have been a little disappointed in the morning bite so am interested to try it in the evening. Who knows...may take some stuff and play "will it float" if the fishing gets slow.
