    2004 225 HO DI

Well, I wrote in last October regarding my boat all of a sudden not being able to plane out with out plowing water for a long time. Idled good, top ended ok just could not get up on plane like it did and it seemed like it planed fine one time and the very next time same day did not and never did after that. Well I put the boat away at that time for the winter and started asking this board what could be the cause and guess what......you were right....decarbing was all it was. I picked the boat up today after having it decarbed dropped it in the water and it ran like a top again. Thanks for all the help.

Re: 2004 225 HO DI (harrys)

I would check head temps, when running on muffs after it comes up to temp. A cold running engine will develop carbon pretty quick. The XD-100 is the best oil for your engine and you should never have to decarb again......as long as head temps are right.
