We had our club classic at Toho and it was tough to say the least. Practice went pretty well. I had found a few fish and felt fairly confident that I could put together a limit each day. I figured that would at least put me in the money. Others I had talked to either didn't get bit or caught small fish. I caught a 4 #'r during practice.My roommate wasn't on fish either so I told him my pattern but not my spot of course. I was catching them just dropping a G-stick in Junebug off the hydrilla in shallow water. Seems like it had to be near lillypads.
So my roomy and I meet up at the hotel Friday night after the first day of practice and BS about the day yada yada. We go eat Mexican food in the hotel resturaunt and I take a shower and go to bed. About 2 in the morning I wake up with a REAL bad pain in my side. I'm thinking gas from the food. Nope, kidney stone. So Tom ( my roomy) takes me to the E-room in St. Cloud. They get me processed and checked in and he takes off. He the pres of the club and has to sign people up. I would've been mad if he would've stayed.
I get released from the hospital at 0830 and get a taxi back to the room. $15.00 for four miles.Anyway, I change clothes, hop in the truck and head to the ramp and put in at 0900.
I start fishing at 0930 and immediately miss three fish. All keepers.
Day two comes and I told my buddy were I was fishing as he didnt weigh anything the first day. Same pattern, cast up on the hydrilla and drag it off the edge. We start catching fish. He had three before I caught my first one. I ended up catching three missing about a 7 punder. She came unbuttoned half way to the boat. Anyway, all things considered, it was OK. I ended up sixth. No money but alot of people zeroed both days. I was on the fish to win and I couldn't put em in the boat. The winner ran to Kissimmee the first day and caught a limit with with a 6# kicker. He stayed in Toho Sunday and caught one fish for a 1 1/2.
