    225 E-TEC Problem Help needed!!!!!

A friend of mine has some issues w/motor. motor cranks fine then when shifted into gear and gives gas to hot foot nothing happens, sounds like its not getting enough gas or something. It doesn't do it all the time and after about 15 minutes of idle it will run right. go figure! it's a 2007 model e-tec. any help would be great.

Tell your friend to keep his foot off the pedal when he starts the motor, making sure it is at the idle stop. If the motor is started with partial throttle, the engine computer "sees" it as an error and won't let the motor accelerate.

Also it is possible that the throttle cable is out of adjustment and not pulling the engine throttle lever all the way back.

A trained tech can fix him up in a jiffy if it is only an adjustment.

If it's operator error, well, that is a different story.

Yep had the same problem, keep foot off of gas. Operator error is frustrating
