    SWEPCO Lake

My buddy and I spent today on this power plant cooling lake just outside Gentry, AR. Water is an astonishing 71 degrees!!!!! Bass abound in this catch-and-release-only lake. We caught between 40-50 largemouth in the 2-3 pound range. Caught them on C-rig creature baits in anything green. Here's a couple of photos:

Great Pictures Aaron; I am hooked up and ready to go, just point me in the right direction. Isn't it awsome when you and a good friend have the opportunity to get out and have a day like that. I think that the lord rewards us more often than we realize. Good job and great day dude!!!!!!

Aaron, fine looking specimen (I'm talking about the fish, not you). Super day and I envy you. That's a little too far for me to drive for a day's fishing but Swepco sounds fantastic.

Hmmmm.....maybe it's not too far. Under two hours from Conway? Heck, I'm driving over two hours tomorrow to fish Monticello so maybe I'll drive out there in a week or two.

    Thanks for the fine pictures

Swepco is a great lake to fish. Lots of fish in the 2 - 3 pd range. I have had lots of trips to swepco that were just awesome. Id recomend anyone to go fish this lake. O and i think i passed u the other day when u were on ur way to the lake. Is that an Xpress boat that u are in? If so im pretty sure it was u. Congrats on the great fishin trip.

    Re: SWEPCO Lake (adchunts)

Looks like you had a great day! I've heard good things about that lake and plan on getting up there someday. Just glad to see a real report for the place, been watching them on another site that I wont mention and the guys have been getting really stupid and not giving honest reports.

I noticed your partner was having to wear sunglasses because of the glare and I dont mean the sun.. J/K with ya man but seriously, get that hat back on

    Re: SWEPCO Lake (Skeeter Jay)

    Jayson,

I you wanna go up there one weekend, give me a holler. We talked to an older retired gentleman that fishes it almost daily, and he really gave us the lowdown.

sweet! I'd be up for it, but my plates full for the next couple of weekends. How long is the bite good up there? I imagine the water gets pretty hot quick.

    Re: SWEPCO Lake (adchunts)

Why would I need to buy another boat when I can catch more fish out of the back of yours? Now really, a get together would be SWEET on that lake!

    Re: SWEPCO Lake (Fishn7)

So for those who are "Folically Challenged" you did OK!

So I assume that SWEPCO Lake is in or around the Sprindale area? This is the first time I've heard the name. If it is as good as you say I might just drag the ol' BEE up there.
