Gonna do a few jigheads with powder paint but they already have weedguards. Is there anything i can wrap around the guards to keep them from deforming when heating and also when curing in oven? Thanks

Janns netcraft sells heat resistant weedguard protectors but I have used aluminum foil in times past......it's a fine line with it though as too much heat will distort the weedguard.......as for curing, I have read where some guys just cooked them longer at lower heat but I've tried that and it just doesn't cure and harden much more than no curing alone......in my experience, oven curing after the weedguard is installed is not a successful method.......I may be missing a trick but I just started pouring them and gluing in the guard after it was cured by using pegs both homemade from nails and purchased from Do-it![]()

I've tried the weedguards from Jann's and not had much success. The foil will be better but you will still have some distortion.
I went to jigs heads with the braided wire weedguards now and they work just as good as the fiber ones without all the problems ...Just heat, dip and bake.
aluminum foil work pretty good, its cheap and easy to get... that or i would yank out the existing weedguards, powdercoat, then epoxy in new weedguards..
