    2 questions

    1. Is there anyway to clear up the bills of a crankbait if it gets cloudy?
    2. I have a speedaire dual action air brush, that is brand new that I am trying to learn with but it seems to want to spit blobs every so often. I'm spraying at around 35 psi. Any ideas on a solution would help.

I'm not familiar with the brush but sounds like your paint is too thick, If your bills are cloudy I'm assuming you've got acetone on them , not good and I dont think it can be cleaned up....2 words (masking -tape) Sorry Rusty I wish I could be more help if they were small scratches most of the time that can be fixed but if it is from the acetone depending on the contact you may have weakened your lip and I've never heard of away to clear it unless you can sand it away which removes part of the lip

Thanks guys. Ive been spraying the paint straight from the bottle without diluting. I will try that and see if it helps. Also the lower pressure. On the bills, I havent used acetone on them they're just some old baits I had laying around that I was learning on. Guesss I could always just paint the bill.

man you do great work. I posted a question on tackleunderground that maybe you can answer. Should I buy the master set of createx paints? I'm not sure what colors I will need and when to use the transparent, flour, etc.

    Rusty,

When you start getting inconsistent paint take a look at the tip of the brush and see if it is building up at the tip and then blowing off. A quick cleaning of the tip should help that.

I would also go with the rest and turn down the pressure and try again. If it doest flow good thin the paint a little. Thinner paint will spray better but you can get too thin also; this is something that you will learn with time.

Another tip with dual action brushes: If you pull the trigger back without the air going it will build a small amount of paint on the needle. When you hit the air the brush will spit. I have made a habit to clear the brush by hitting the air a couple of times before pulling back to start painting. This will clear the splatters and allow you to paint a consistent pattern.

Remember there is a big learning curve for an airbrush and don't be afraid to ask questions.

As far as paint it really depends on the patterns you want to paint.

A good starting point would be White, Pearl White, Green, Brown, Red, Yellow.
