How do you guys rig your Hula grubs

I got a couple of packs of Gary Yamamoto 5 in. Hula Grubs and I am wondering how do you guys rig them? I have taken some out and tried to rig the T-rigged on a 4/0 hook, but it didn't work to good, I tried a shakeyhead rig, and that didn't work. What do you guys do? I love the look of the bait, and the color.

Oh, I fish weeds,rocks and timber, so I don't think open hoos would work

I use them on a jig as a trailer, or on a slider jig head with a weed guard if needed

rig mine on a 1/8-1/2oz. football jighead. sometimes with a single wire guard, depending on the cover.

Try a chompers brush jig or one of the Ninja jigs.

i rig mine on a 1/4 oz football head w/ 3/0 gammy or a 1/4 oz shakey head. Chompers standup jigs on occasion also.

I rig mine on a 1/2 oz football head jig and fish them deep

football jig, shakehead rig, tx rigged, and jig trailer.

I have to fish them really really really slow to get bit. I like them more in the winter than the summer. My favorite its on the edges of riprap, dragged really slow around it, dont let it get off the bottom.

Don't be afraid to go heavier guys. Theres a local guy who uses 1oz or heavier football heads, with 6 inch hula grubs and mops up the competition.
I love hula grubs, color 176 is the most popular here.
