How do I pitch jigs and bounce tubes off the bottom on a rocky lake

Shore line is nothing but large rocks and boulders even down to deeper depths. How do I throw jigs, tubes, lizards without getting hung up constantly. These rocks just eat bottom type lures.

Have you tried a football head jig? They have pretty wide "shoulders" and I would think they'd work better around rocks than traditional jigs.

pay attention to your line size and jig size, to heavy you'll stay hung. keep it light and pay attention to your bait, you can learn to "walk" it over the rocks in time.

P.s football heads will help for sure.
    good luck

    Thanks for the info,

the biggest problem with these rocks is the bait falls between them and then wedges in. Do I need to try a more straight up and down approach? These are large rocks 5-10lb with square shoulders

another good thing to try is throw a 60 degree bend jig rather than a 90 degree jig. I do alot of tube dragging out on lake Erie and seem to get alot less with the 60 degree tube jigs.

also, I would try a drop shot with a slinder weight on the line, that way you can show a worm of some sort and not worry about breaking it off.

let us know how it goes
