Flippin/Pitchin Grass mats with Tungsten weights...

Do you peg your weights or not?
Do you prefer Braided lines or Florocarbon lines?
I know this is a technique I need to learn this year.

I usually keep two flipping rods in the boat. The rod I use for flipping the thick stuff I have 50-80lb Whiplash braid. The second rod I use for not as dense vegitation and have it spooled with 25lb Big Game as I'm not using as heavy of a weight and the mono being slicker will slide through the vegitation easier with the lighter weight where fishing the heavier mats and using a much heavier weight to penetrate it will pull the braid through. I also alway's peg my weights when flipping, That will keep the bait from sepperating from the weight and trying to go through two differant places instead of just one.

I called my stockbroker and asked him what I should be buying.
He said, \"Canned goods and ammunition\".

I second Fatboy on this one

Heavy matted or thick sub-surface grass then I use 50-65 lb braid and always peg the weights (preferably with rubber pegs as they are easier on the knot).

I peg my weights with the rubber inserts and always use braid.

I use tru tungsten weights along with their new pegging system.. works great!
I have a rod with 50# braid and another with 25# mono. I'll let the conditions dictate... I think the mono will help out in clear water... Been reading alot about this technique... seems alot of guys are using mono... kinda surprised me cause I thought they were all using braid...
FYI the new BMF hook is awesome for this... Won't use anything else now...

It's a new hook from reaction innovations. Very heavy duty. welded eye. Short straight shank... monster gap. It's around. check out tacklewarehouse for it. I used them for 3 months last fall, fishing with braid, My lost bass were next to none. Hook is very tough... I actually used one hook for the whole time still sharp and ready to go!
