weighted flukes (how to tell a hit)

Y'all that fish flukes with weight on them, how do you detect a hit? Is it primarily when you see your line move, or do you feel them sometimes.
I'm just wondering because it seems like you'll miss a lot of fish that might grab it when you're twitching becasue they feel you and spit it out.
I've fished flukes in the shallows and usually see a swirl or flash somewhere near my lure to give me some indication of a hit before I ever feel the fish.

    Re: weighted flukes (dowhatta)

I try not to watch the line when fishing a fluke. Kind of like fishing a top water bait. Weighted or not you are going to feel the hit and have plenty of time to set the hook. I have lost some nice fish by jerking when they swirl at the bait before they actually hit it. Think about it, the bait is mimicking an injured baitfish so if you get a bite it is an active bass that is trying to kill the bait. Don't skin hook your bait (make your bait weedless) unless you are fishing cover and the bass will normally hook them self. Good Luck.

They wont spit out a fluke most of the time it will be in the back of the fish mouth.
