Blown 2005 Johnson 150

First of all I do not have my Model Or Serial # I don't think it's even relevant to this post. I just got a call from the dealer that I have a blown motor. They have been working on this boat for 5 weeks tomorrow. When the boat went to the shop for the idle and take off problem (sounds like a throttle arm problem) they told me the compression was good and the motor was in good shape less the idle problem. Is it possible to have a motor that will turn 5700 RPM the day before it went to the shop and turn out to be a blown motor or is someone "raining" down my back? It had been doing this for months now and the only reason I took it in was because it was a pain to trailer.

Hard to say but if it was turning them numbers before you brought it in AND YOU know the compression was good before hand,,,I'd have to have them prove it to me. It took them 5 weeks to tell you it was blown?

I think I'm going to need some face time with these guys! This whole thing has been a freakin nightmare.

Who did you take it to> I hope it was not Johnny's Outboard. They dropped my friends 9hp motor one time and broke the LU on it, and then told him he had to pay to have it fixed. It was in there only to get some carb work done.
