Looking for opinions on 60hp E-tec

I need to buy a motor for my 17' Xpress Duck Boat and am hoping someone can give me some reviews on the 60 E-tec motors. I am fairly certain this is the right way for me to go but am also looking at a 50 Yamaha carb motor. Do the 2 cyl e-tects have pretty good low end torque or do I want to look at somthing in the 3 cyl range?

    Thanks

Re: Looking for opinions on 60hp E-tec (MN Champion)

    Hi MN Champion,

I had the first 60hp Etec that came into Australia and after failing to break it over 18 months, (I did try very hard ... WOT more often than not!) I bought a bigger boat just so I could get a bigger (175hp) Etec.

The 60hp Etec has just as much grunt as any other 60hp 2 stroke and way better than a fourstroke. Skiing was easy behind the Etec!
Any carb motor will require mixing of fuel/oil and will use much more fuel than the same hp Etec will ... The Etec won't smell like a 2 stroke either ... it will start first go and also pay your bills ontime every month!

    Welllll ... mine did
