    RPM's at WOT ?? on '97 225 Venom

    Mod J225STLEUD
    Ser G 04346345

On the rear of a '97 Stratos 201

It is turning 5600 according to the gauge but feels like it has more. I don't have a whole lot of seat time in it just yet. I'm running a 4 blade prop - 25, I think. The boat is really smooth at WOT even when I trim her up so I'm not inclined to fool to much with things.

I'm not a speed freak and I don't want to damage the motor. Just curious if I'm at the top of her limit or what?

Don't ask me speed numbers - don't have the GPS installed yet.

With the info we have, you need to measure the pad to prop shaft distance. Most here run that measurement from 3 1/2" to 2 1/2" on these boats. I run 2 1/2" on my 295. If you are below 3" I would raise it to 3" and see what you get. This will get the RPM's up a bit!

There is a fine line between \"FISHING\" and just standing in the boat going through the motions!!!

    Let me rephrase the question

What is the max RPM of this motor? Or another way, is 5.6k what I should expect at WOT?

5,000-6,000 is the operating range for your motor.

And your limiter is set at 6700. I turned my 5900 all day long, without a hiccup.
