Not trying to be a deal breaker but you will have to change the mid and everything else to make that work on your 201. You may want to check around for left over E-tecs or C &O for trades. Roland Martin marine had some deals on E-tecs a while back.
ok cool didint know that, I am just trying to get up a lil faster I got an older vennom 225 on the back getting about 64 in the high altitude here in colorado, i was even thinkin maybe just some jack plates on it

If you know some local OMC dudes talk to them about re-jetting for the altitude variations. A plate won't hurt for sure and depending on your model 201 you may get it right! Them carb motors are pretty solid and even though they won't hang with an E-tec or a DFI in their stock form, they sure are cheaper to service!![]()
I thought about getting it re-jetted a few times, but when I go back down to sea level i would have the reverse effect slow there and fast here. Just got off the phone with bass pro shops they got a 10 in manual plate for 229 in stock. My buddy was tellin me since I'm doing about 63 here without the plates with them I should be close to 70

6" Rapid jack with a 25" Tempest with PVS or 26" rake2r if you can wait for it to spin up otherwise a 24" stock raker with the ears tweaked for lift to put you on the pad. A gade is good but the Tempest carries the load better.
Have you looked into getting an efi conversion kit from Brucato. He has great results with his and numerous other customers motors. Much cheaper then getting another motor and about 4-5mph gain. Brucatosvs.com
