I'll be glad when 15 June gets here!!

Man have I had problems catching good fish this year, We had a club TX on the 15th and a Region TX yesterday, and I had 3 keepers between the 2 weekends!!

I didn't get to go out again after the 15th, but I did get some info from Kris, and I did catch alot of fish, I actually stopped counting after 40 fish and that was at 9:00 in the morning. But could only get 2 keepers for over 60 fish!! This was the first region TX on the Potomac that I have not had a limit!

Anyone that wants to catch a ton of fish and have fun I know where a bunch of 14" are!!

We had a Team TX on Sunday and between the both of us we had 5 keepers but they only weighed 13.5lbs.
    1st place was 21lbs, 2nd was 20lbs, 3rd was 19lbs, yada, yada, yada.
    Our turn is comming.

Try fishing the Upper Potomac if you think that isn't much weight? I won a open tournament up here with 5 fish that weighed 4.6lbs

Re: I'll be glad when 15 June gets here!! (Gunny)

Well, I'm glad i'm not the only one.
Just got back from fishing monday and tuesday... a little bit this morning too.
Fished Aquia to Piscataway and back again. Caught about 25 a day with maybe two or three that would measure each day. No slobs. Best fish was probably three pounds.
Did catch a couple on the frog though.
Gonna go back next week and give it another shot.

BTW... Gar and carp are going bananas right now. At almost every weed bed I hit, they were spending more time out of the water than in.

Hope I can find some bigger fish before next weekend. lol.
Lot was full at smallwood when I left before noon on wednesday. I'm guessing half the field is there prefishing right now.
I'll be back down tuesday afternoon trying to squeeze in a little more practice time before thursday's launch.

Well I played hooky from work on Tuesday and guess what, I found the fish over 15"!!

Story of my life day late and a dollar short!!

And no I'm not telling where they were, otherwise my boss would fire my arse from guiding on Lake Anna, he's fishing the AFS, but yes he knows where I was!!

Been taking 20 lbs to win most team events, which the norm. VA TBF Region 1 had a tournament last weekend and the guy won with 18+. Second was 16+ and third 15+.

We had 17lbs today but it was only good for 4th place. 21lbs won it.

Scott, I assume that if you are guiding that you have taken and passed the USCG Captians test for at least a min of the OUPV/6-Pack? If you carry passengers for hire or tips, you are considered a commercial enterprise and that requires insurance. If your on the river, then you are required to have the PRFC Captains license in addition to the USCG OUPV.

    PRFC laws:
    http://www.prfc.state.va.us/sp...o.htm

I'm sure you have this all covered. Just want to let the folks know it's not just as simple as loading people in your boat and carrying them around then get paid. It's the law that you have the license(s) and insurance.

Thanks Mike, but I'm well aware of the laws, and don't think that Teddy would hire me if I wasn't. I'm not guiding on the River systems, until I get my Captains permit. But I have everything required for lakes, to include commerical insurance, which by the way isn't easy to find!!
