Took my boys down Saturday and we had an awesome day. Met a lot of pros including Alton Jones, Denny Brauer, Larry Nixon, Pete Ponds, Zell Rowland and many others. My highlight of the day though was meeting Bill Dance. As usual I was wearing an Alabama hat and asked Bill if he minded signing a good hat. He looked at it, threw it on the floor then picked it up and signed it, laughing the whole time. When he took a pic with my youngest son he kept trying to cover up my sons face. He was a really nice guy and didn't make you feel rushed. Also we met Hank Parker and he is a class act. He wound up taking four pictures with us.
All the pros were as nice as they could be. I like to have never gotten away from Denny Brauer, in fact he was a little late getting to a seminar because he was talking to me.
My boys talked about meeting all the pros all the way home and my youngest slept in his autographed hat.
I've never been to anything like this with the NFL, NBA,MLB, etc but I just don't see pros atheletes mingling with the crowd the way the pros were and talking to them. Makes you feel good that there are still a few guys out there that your kids can look up to.
My boys are already planning a trip to Shreveport next year
Pics to come as soon as I find a freaking cable in this house to connect my camera to my laptop
