My son Alec tried out and made the 12U Elite Baseball team in the area. We got the call last night and he came running outside with the phone all excited. I guess all those days of "daddy, let's play catch" are paying off. About 45 kids from the Golden Triangle area tried out for the team. I"m a proud Dad today for sure!!!

His name is Alec, and yes, I had a few http://www.bassboatcentral.com/boardstuff2/beers.gif to celebrate....Kid was born with a glove in his hand. He is a left handed pitcher and 1st baseman. Now, if I can get him as interested in fishing as he is in sports, it will be all good. But, I guess for now, I will take "just baseball"....lol

There are a few kids from Bridge City and Orangefield that made the team also. There is some real good talent in the area for sure!! Their coaches are current/former Lamar Univ players. Should be good experience...

Mike, that is his motto. He was outside yesterday waiting for me to bring him to football practice and while waiting he was throwing a baseball into his pitching screen. Kid just loves sports. And fishing, when they are biting!!!!! lol
