I run a 25 Tempest on my 188 and it preforms well. As a matter of fact I looked at a new Fury but my setup with the tempest is so right on I don't want to mess with it. And it was setup by Pat while he was at C&O. Never beat againest Pat on a Champ setup.
If you didn't run what was recommended how in the world can you be convinced it's "better"???
We've run 181's with every wheel sold...and tweaked at that to find every last drop we could muster out of it. And the results were consistent...
A high rake three blade always out does a four blade in normal (not 4 foot waves) conditions. Tempest, Yamaha M, *worked* raker, all will run harder than whatever four blade you want to twist. Some better than others, but none were equal. Closest would be a worked four blade OMC against a stock unworked raker, but even then the raker would pull it.
