If you have a window unit tent camping is not so bad in the summer. And its easier to get tent sites in the summer because of lack of demand.

No camping here, my idea of roughing it nowadays is a room with black and white TV! http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/ohwell.gif

You might consider camping at Lake Bastrop. Nice facilities, right on the lake. Not that far a drive from San Antonio. About a 45 minute drive east of Austin.

Thanks again everyone. The responses have been great. I've got several game-plan's for taking my son and wife camping soon. I noticed some of the parks have some kids events on their schedule, which I'm going to partake in. I think little D'Artagnan is going to enjoy his first camping trip.
