Had to do it with mine also like said above make sure the tank is close to empty.

I found out that the hose broke off the pump with the plastic piece still inside. I am thinking about just leaving the old pump there and mounting a new one a little further back so it will be easier to get to next time. Does this sound like a good idea?

I was wondering about that. It seems like the old one is screwed in but the directions for the new pump say to mount it on a board first. I think I will glue it.

Ive got a 94 Skeeter & the fuel tank is 1/2 larger than the opening! Whats the trick to getting it out! Shoe horn?? Bilge pump is plugged & cant clear it with hose or air!
