Re: Yamaha Transom Saver (jfdawson)
Looks like a well built piece of equipment but I still have my doubts about the actual support these types of transom savers provide. I will probably http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/stirthepot.gif by making this post but it's just my two pennies. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/popcorn.gif
Re: Yamaha Transom Saver (Bass Junkie)
Looks cool...what is the value of this type verses the traditional type?
Re: Yamaha Transom Saver (jfdawson)
I agree with bassjunkie, i can't see how that could take the weight of the engine off of the transom. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/doh.gif

Has anyone heard if this creates any warranty issues with Yamaha or Skeeter?
Re: Yamaha Transom Saver (jfdawson)
Here's what it looks like on the motor:

You know I'm not trying to start any controversy, I'm just curious if they'll have issues or not. But I do know some Skeeter dealers will sell a recessed trolling motor pedal and Skeeter says that will void the deck warranty on the boat. For that reason I don't think selling this makes an implied warranty approval, but I'll probably buy one anyway and use it until I hear otherwise. I saw them at the show in Arlington and was very impressed with the workmanship. http://xs-s.com/zf/images/smile/emthup.gif
We've just got too much money tied up in these toys to give the manufacturer a reason to not warrant them.

With that said, i know when i bought my SX190 boat, the dealer swore up and down that adding a jackplate to it would not void the warranty. If you have an honest dealer, hell let you know and not try to make a "sale".

Will this fit the HPDI motors? How high do you trim up the motor to get it in? Looks like a good product but does it have any rubber material between it and the motor? If not wouldn't damage the mount of the outboard over time?
Re: Yamaha Transom Saver (plbass)
Re: Yamaha Transom Saver (MD ZX225)
Who makes that one?? For HPDI???
Re: Yamaha Transom Saver (plbass)
i think either one meaning the one that jfdawson is showing and the one i am showing will fit and yamaha motor including the HPDI
Re: Yamaha Transom Saver (MD ZX225)
The one Jeff has is made by ProRule. Who makes the one you have on your boat?
Re: Yamaha Transom Saver (plbass)
the original concept was from lock-n-haul. i broke it so i went to lowes and made another one myself. total cost about $15 bucks and you can make 2 out of the parts you get.
Re: Yamaha Transom Saver (MD ZX225)
Ok Md ,
What were the ingrediants to making one of these Lowes specials? http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/bows.gif
Re: Yamaha Transom Saver (Flyin200)
the unit from prorule works really well, started selling them a couple of weeks ago....much better than a transom saver.
