Re: stress cracks!!!!!!! (moose288)
Hi Jeff, Welcome back to the Cobra forum of the BBC....you've been here before haven't you ?
First, if your stress fractures are fixed "CORRECTLY" they shouldn't come back. Are there a lot of them ?? You can always take the tip of a razor blade, and on the very end of each fracture use the tip of the blade and kinda drill a tiny hole on it. That should keep the fracture from traveling any further until you can get it fixed.
Second, the company has changed hands numerous times since your boat was built so there is no warrenty left on your hull....sorry.

You're welcome Jeff
I'd say about the size of the tip of a pencil lead or maybe a toothpick......you are creating a little cavity for the fracture to run into and then it can't travel any further. Be sure and get right on the end of the fracture.
I guess I should tell you that this method will keep the fractures from traveling thru the gel coat any further. If the glass is fractured beneath the gel coat then with time and vibration a new one might show up.
But I am thinking they are all gel fractures. Good Luck and let me know if I can help you with anything else http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/USA1.gif
Re: stress cracks!!!!!!! (moose288)
http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/mad.gif I have a 1996 188 D. I have stress cracks all over the rail of my boat. Both sides have cracks that extend from the foward cleat all the way to the consoles along the seam where the two different gell coat colors come together. Half way between the foward cleat and the console there is a crack that extends from the top of the rail to the rub rail, it looks real nasty. Numerous cracks around the rear transum area and also between the consoles and the rail. I hope this boat stays together! Can't afford another! http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/crying.gif
