Re: ETEC 90 no oil alarm (stoney)
There was a change in the XD100 oil about a year and a half ago. The dealer may still have some old inventory. Have him look into it.

And just because its a 2006, doesn't mean it left the factory with the latest software. There was a software change early this year (late January if I remember right) that addressed false "no oil" warnings. If your motor was built close to, or before than, it might need that update.

Re: ETEC 90 no oil alarm (stoney)
Stoney, I know it can be a little irritating to have to take it back. The maps come out sometimes slightly after an engine is purchased. The dealer may not have had the map on site the at the time of sale, an engine may be boxed and shipped and a month later a new map shows up that helps with an issue not previously known at that time. You have to understand that every customer runs an engine differently, in a different part of the country or around the world. There is no way to know all of the scenarios that play out on any given engine. Cold, hot, air temp, water temp, oil flow, starting, shutting down, trolling, W.O.T. and about a thousand things i can't think of, all have effects on the engine. You can bet one thing though, BRP will be there if you have a problem!!!! http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/wink.gif
