Re: Storing and fogging oil (Ranger250)

First of all. Best wishes to your friend and his family. I hope his tour is a safe one.
As for the fogging oil. You need to get it into the bottom end of the motor, so it will protect the crank, bearings, lower cylinder walls, etc. You can spray it into the carbs - as fast as you can get it in. Or the easiest way is to use the red preventitave maintenance valve located on the starboard side of the motor. Bomb fogging oil comes with a tube that will screw onto the PM valve. I think the directions are on the can.
After you have done that, pull the plugs, and give each cylinder a squirt of about 1/2 oz. Put the plugs back and crank her over a few times. PULL THE KILL SWITCH FIRST.
Get a can of silicone spray, and go over all the electrical connections on the motor. Give the prop hub a spray too. If I left anything out, I'm sure someone will help out.....Pete
Re: Storing and fogging oil (basn4fun)
Thanks for the info. Will be doing this in a couple of more weeks. Seems the very least I can do for him. Pretty good fishing partner, too. Told him about this place in an email, but his computer time is pretty limited right now. Hope to get him on here when he returns, sometime around a year from now. Thanks again. Sully
