Yellow Washers

Okay, I finally got around to changing my L.U. oil today and did exactly like the instructions above stated. Everything went perfect. The old oil was clear and I let one ounce drain after I filled it to allow for expansion. Then I tightened the two drain plugs as tight as I could. My question is: I noticed when I purchased a package of yellow washers from Don that there were 3 that were different from the other 3. Does this make any difference which one goes where and are they all the same washer. In other words is there a top washer and a bottom washer? To let you all know what I did I put the washer with the cross hair looking stripes ( the bottom row of washers ) on the bottom plug with the solid yellow part of the washer out towards the screw head and the cross hairs toward the lower unit. How often do you reccomend replacing these washers?

I replace mine every time I change my fluid.

The safe answer is to replace every time the screw is removed.

In reality... these yellow washers are more resiliant than the older "fiber" washers, and can usually withstand resuse "several times".
