Winter maintenance and storage ideas..
I have a Cajun 1950 F/S with a newly rebuilt Johnson Faststrike 150..
I had the builder install a new OEM "fuel only" VRO kit...which cuts out the oil injection completely.
I now mix my own oil (it was peace of mind for me)..
What it the best way to close the season on this boat?
I've heard a lot of different opinions, but I'd like to hear from someone more experienced than "my neighbor"..
So..should I:
Disconnect the fuel line and run the carbs dry?
Use stabil and ring free and keep the gas topped off?
Looking for tips, advice and opinion here..
I'd like to have a boat that fires right up next summer with no problems.
Thanks,
Globug

here you go add the according amount of BRP fuel conditioner to the tank 2 oz/ 1 gallon of fuel in the tank. Run motor for about 25 minutes on the muffs. To make sure the conditioner goes through the fuel system. Next time to decarb the motor, buy 1 can of BRP engine tuner and follow the directions on the can. You have a shrader valve on your primer so you can remove the stem cap and screw the turner hose on there. Run the motor and follow the directions on the can. Let it sit over night and fire it back up in the AM. Next apply BRP fogging oil to the motor via the shrader valve and the motor will be ready to go come spring. Also Drain the LU and check condition of the fluid correct any problems at this time. Remove the prop and check for any fishing line that may have accrued during the season. Grease the prop shaft and re-install prop, grease all zirc fittings with Tripple guard grease. Store the motor with the foot pointed towards the floor. Remove all H20 carrying hoses to gauges, Speedo, H20 Pressure to prevent gauge freeze up, put a trickle charger on the batteries and you are pretty much done.
Shopping list: 1 pint BRP fuel conditioner, 1 can BRP engine tuner, 1 can BRP Fogging oil, 2 quarts BRP Ultra HPF lower unit fluid. 1 tube BRP Tripple Guard Grease.
