Re: Fish attractor (getfished)
Thats a darn good idea there http://xs-s.com/zf/images/smile/emthup.gif
I bought the Ray Scott videos when I built my ponds, he suggests somethin like that. I used half 55 gal drums like you but drove a fence post thru it in the pond before it had water in it and placed a cedar with other limbs out of it. After I had all the limbs I wanted I filled it to the top with concrete. I placed about 15 of these in each pond, but I am going to add a few that you just shown http://xs-s.com/zf/images/smile/emthup.gif

When the pond is empty http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/Laugh.gif
There are a few guys up here that place structure on the ice when it freezes over and it falls when it melts. I even seen a guy use a tractor/loader and dump gravel in shallow areas for spawning beds. Seems to work pretty good http://xs-s.com/zf/images/smile/emthup.gif

Re: Fish attractor (getfished)
I would think since your fish attractor has moving tentacles that fish will not relate to it like you want. From my experience I don't catch fish from things that move around like I do things that are solid and don't move. Not saying nothing will hang around it but I am saying that if you could make those arms solid and fixed into one position then you would have allot better fish attractor.

Good point. I hadn't thought about it like that. You may be right. I think I will make the next ones more rigid and give it a try.
Re: Fish attractor (getfished)
When you fish current laden waters with grass in them, the grass is constantly moving. I don't think that movement would keep fish from inhabiting something like that. I have caught fish off of floating docks that are not stationary, as well as anchored boats that have a tendancy to swing around with the wind direction.

WOW, excellent ideas all around.

Re: Fish attractor (flounderhead59)
The real proof only comes after using a SI a few times over a year to see which "piles" attract fish the most...I used 1-2 wood pallets with oak branches (Wildlife & Fisheries preferred wood) and 2-4 cinder blocks for weight and dropped about 25 total into 4 lakes...its like a business...location, location, location...its alos like baseball..you hit .300 with the piles and you are a "pile" all-star.
Just got a side imager so I can't wait to scan these tops.
Re: Fish attractor (reelman)
