I have a 2015 225 Pro XS (Serial #2B122654) that runs out of warranty next month. All cylinders still test perfectly and I haven't had any problems with the engine but since I'm approaching 800 hrs I'm thinking about repowering. Anyone know the cost of getting a new powerhead (not a rebuild) if a worst case situation arises in the future? Or will it be impossible to get new factory powerheads given the transition to 4-strokes now?
why would you put 800 hr components on a new powerhead when you could get a dressed one with all new components on it and purchase a extended warraanty also close too same money

Thanks for the advice. Forgive me for sounding ignorant but what does "dressed" or "full dresser" mean?
everything under the cowling except the 2 plastics pieces on front and top of powerhead even the batt cables , drop on start up
Ok. So what does a dressed one typically run for price? And how much/how long for an extended warranty typically?
Those questions would need to be answered directly through a selling dealer or service department (we don't post Parts Prices in the forums as they are constantly changing).
What is wrong with a motor with 800 hours on it?
